Getting back on the Health Bandwagon

This week I've been feeling a little under the weather and have really neglected my efforts in eating healthy and regularly exercising.  Come the end of the week , I was feeling pretty guilty and unmotivated. There was only one thing for it, a Holland and Barrett haul, to re enlighten my enthusiasm and buy some clean snacks to resist my urge to grab that packet of M & Ms.

After a busy day in work on Friday, I made my way over to St David's Mall and commenced some retail therapy. So here's what I brought.

 Bounce Energy Balls

I have been curious about these for a while now,and I thought they'd be perfect for a sweet after workout treat.  They are high in protein and antioxidants and are also gluten free. They are quite pricey at £1.99 each but at the moment there's an offer at Holland and Barrett where you get the second item half price.

I brought the flavours in Apple and Cinnamon and Cacao Mint. There were loads of other flavours you can check out here:

Nakd Raisins:

I am very excited to try these as  I am a lover of raisins.  The packet advertises these as "Juicy Raisins that taste like sweets" YUM!There is nothing artificial in them and no added sugar, so again I thought these may be a perfect sweet hit on my lunch breaks.

The flavours I brought were Tangy Lime and Crazy Cola and they were only 49p each.

Meridian

It seems everyone has meridian peanut butter at the moment and I didn't want to miss out.  I have only recently got into peanut butter, I always hated the thought of it as a child but now I enjoy it.
I went for a jar of the smooth peanut butter which I thought would go lovely on some wholemeal toast, to add to smoothies and to use a little dollop in my porridge.  I also got a meridian almond butter protein bar which I'm also very excited to try.

Iron Tablets

I've have been so lethargic lately, I'll get in from work and feel absolutely knackered and be asleep on the sofa by 9oclock. I do have a mild form of anaemia which is probably why so I also brought Iron Tablets with Vitamin C.

I also took a trip to Marks and Spencer and brought the latest issue of Women's Health.  This always gives me that motivation to get off the sofa and go for a run.  I then picked up some organic green tea with jasmine. I will be honest though I couldn't leave M &S without picking up a packet of Percy Pigs to gobble on the way home. Whoops!

Please let me know what you do to get motivated ?

    1. I know I wish they weren't so expensive it just makes it easier to grab a chocolate bar for 50p rather than something healthy.
