Jurassic World

It's impossible not to hear anything Jurassic World related at the moment and as I type away I'm currently watching the original Jurassic Park on TV.
Finally we are treated to another instalment of the Jurassic park franchise.  In the newest film, Jurassic World has opened up to the public and they are creating a dinosaur that's even scarier and menacing than anything seen before, things can only go wrong.......

Yesterday, I was treated to a trip to our nearest IMAX theatre by my parents.  I have been so excited to see this film, so why not experience it in the best quality. And it was definitely worth it!

It had a lot to live up to and it didn't disappoint.  At the start of the film we visit the park, which features, rides
that roam through dinosaur lands, children riding on the back of baby dinosaurs (which are really cute by the way) and dinosaur shows.  It appears to be a lot like an amusement park and when they "invent" a new dinosaur to rival all others, the park and everyone on the island becomes in jeopardy.

Yes, I guess the story line is rather predictable, but isn't that what we all want and expect from the film.  I liked how it pays homage to the first film and you'll be able to spot a lot of props and references to Jurassic Park and of course that fantastic soundtrack which just so happens to be my ringtone (not embarrassing at all when this goes off in work super loud!) . I've heard critics slate the film for not being realistic to what dinosaurs were actually like, but who cares, it's a film.  It's there to be entertaining and that is exactly what it does.

There's a few jumpy and tense moments which are to be expected and are definitely amplified in IMAX but the film is still family friendly.  I won't ruin the ending but I will say that I thought the ending was pretty epic and it did manage to give me goose bumps by the last scene.
The film is certainly not perfect, characters are under developed, with some plot holes and plot fillers but these do not matter as the climax of the film is gripping and visually fantastic.

What's not to love in  this film, it's action packed, there's bigger and better dinosaurs, the best music score ever and Chris Pratt.  However, the one aspect of the film that kept me puzzled was how did
Aunt Claire last the whole film in high heels.  I'm sorry, if critics want to talk about it being realistic then she would've taken those heels off way before running away from a terrifying carnivore.

All in all I would without doubt see this film again, a top runner for best film this summer!
Everyone go and see and let me know what you thought :)
